Acorn House was the very first care home acquired by Ark Care Homes Ltd, opening its doors to clients in 2003. It is situated in the pretty seaside village of Westward Ho!, a couple of miles from the port town of Bideford and approximately 10 miles from the market town of Barnstaple.
The local area boasts a wealth of the best North Devon has to offer, including the stunning beaches, dramatic coastlines, beautiful woodlands, rolling countryside and riverside walks, especially along the famous Tarka Trail.
Acorn Manor is the second care home opened by Ark Care Homes Ltd, welcoming clients since 2006.
It is situated on the outskirts of the historic port town of Bideford, just a couple of miles from the seaside villages of Westward Ho! and Instow and approximately 10 miles from Barnstaple, North Devon’s main town. Acorn Manor is a large, detached Georgian property dating back some 400 years and stands in its own extensive grounds with 2 acres of woodland, gardens and a lake.
Beachfield is Ark Care Homes Ltd’s third care home for people with learning disabilities and was opened in 2007. It is perfectly situated in the centre of Westward Ho! village, and is within a 5-minute walk of the beach, shops, cafes, restaurants and attractions.
Northam Burrows and the South West Coastal Path are also on the doorstep. Just a couple of miles away is the historic port town of Bideford. Beachfield is registered for 6 clients with complex needs including Autism, learning disabilities, Challenging behaviour and epilepsy.
